Pope Benedict Quote:
"On
the occasion of the third anniversary of my election to the See of Peter I
would like to take the opportunity to greet and thank all those who have joined
us by radio and other media… Indeed, this means of communication assists me in
sharing the saving message of the Gospel. I am pleased …so many people can
follow the daily life and activities of the Church. God bless you all."
Pope Benedict XVI – April
19, 2008
Programming Philosophy:
Absolutely Authentic
As
lay Catholics, we take very seriously the responsibility of broadcasting the
Catholic Faith. We look to the Catechism of the Catholic Church for the
boundaries of our Faith. We invite the bishops to appoint representatives to sit
on local advisory boards in each community. The role of the local
advisory board is to participate in the community development, financial
development, and local program development for the station.
Evangelization and Catechesis
The
underlying purpose of our programming is evangelization and catechesis. Many
Catholics desire a greater understanding of the Faith. All of us are in
need of conversion. Our hope is to help motivate our listeners to seek a deeper
relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. In doing so, we hope to
participate, in a small way, in the Church's efforts to change lives and save
souls.
One Hour a Day for
Bishop
We
offer one hour a day of free airtime to bishops to use as they desire.
One example of the usage of this time is the Bishop's Mass and the show Catholic
Radio Weekly, a program produced by the US Catholic Conference of
Bishops. This is our way of showing respect and honor to the successors
of the Apostles.
Balanced Programming
Because
of the growing number of program sources available to a Catholic radio
apostolate we are beginning to see a greater mix of programs. The number of
live programs has greatly increased over the last couple of years. With a
number of new stations slated to go on the air in near future it should awaken
many more groups to the benefit of producing quality Catholic programs.
